Russian night attack kills two railway workers on duty in Ukraine's Donetsk region

"Bitter news for the railway family. Last night’s attacks in Donetsk brought losses: the locomotive driver and his assistant died while performing their duties," Pertsovskyi said.

He added that on another site in the Donetsk region, a train assembler was injured last night. The man suffered a shrapnel wound to the head.

He was transported to Mechnikov Hospital in the Dnipropetrovsk region for specialized care to provide maximum assistance.

"Our colleague's surgery was successful. His condition remains critical but stable. The next few days will be decisive for his recovery prospects. The railway team stands with him. Fingers crossed," the head of Ukrzaliznytsia's branch added.

Russian attacks on July 13

Russian forces launched new attacks on Sumy today, July 13. As a result of the strikes, part of the city lost power. Three critical facilities, including hospitals, were left without electricity.

Meanwhile, in the Sumy region, the enemy drone attacked civilians traveling by motor-block on a road between communities.

A 57-year-old man died in the strike. His brother was injured.

Earlier, Vadym Lyakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, said that Russians struck Sloviansk with drones in the early hours of July 13.

According to him, residential buildings, a kindergarten, and a hospital were damaged. A 13-year-old boy was injured.

Russia also hit the city of Samar in the Dnipropetrovsk region today. According to RBC-Ukraine sources, Russians targeted the building of the Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support.

Additionally, Russian forces shelled Kherson overnight. Two civilians were wounded.
