Russian forces launched a missile strike on the outskirts of Kharkiv on the evening of October 11. Three people were killed, including a 16-year-old teenager, and 22 others were injured, said Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov.
"An enemy missile strike has been recorded on the outskirts of Kharkiv. According to preliminary information, the missile hit near a grocery store," Syniehubov reported at 7:47 p.m.
Later, reports emerged that six people had been injured, including one child.
At 8:07 p.m., the regional administration chief announced that three people had been killed in the Russian attack.
"A 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old woman, and a 51-year-old woman were killed. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims," he added later.
The number of injured also rose rapidly. As of 9:48 p.m., 22 civilians were known to have been injured, including two children.
"Among the injured are a 13-year-old girl who suffered an acute stress reaction and an 8-year-old girl who was hospitalized with a blast injury," Syniehubov wrote.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that the Russian attack sparked a fire covering an area of 300 square meters. The fire has since been extinguished.
"Rescuers, bomb disposal experts, canine units, medical personnel, volunteers, and law enforcement officers worked at the scene. The State Emergency Service's psychologists provided assistance to those affected," the statement said.
Earlier, Russia struck the Ivano-Frankivsk region, killing three people.
The media also reported on the consequences of Russia's latest attack on Kyiv.
