Russian forces carried out a missile strike on a village in the Lebedyn community of the Sumy region on the evening of November 2. Civilian casualties were reported, reports Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

"As a result of the attack, two civilian women, aged 55 and 65, were wounded. The victims were taken to hospitals, where medical staff are providing necessary care. There is damage to the residential sector. The consequences of the attack are being assessed," he wrote.

On the evening of November 2, an air raid alert was issued in Kyiv and several other regions of Ukraine. The enemy threatened to use ballistic missiles, primarily targeting the eastern and northern territories.

Monitoring channels warned of potential missile launches from the Kursk region and later reported strong explosions in the Sumy region during the alert. The enemy likely carried out the same missile strike.

Russian attacks on Sumy

On November 1, a partial blackout occurred in Sumy due to a Russian attack. In the morning, Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure in the city, injuring a 33-year-old man. Later in the evening, Sumy and parts of the region were left completely without electricity.

On the night of October 31, a Russian drone hit a high-rise building in Sumy, causing a fire. A minor girl and an elderly woman sustained injuries and received medical assistance on-site. According to the Regional Military Administration, Russian forces attacked Sumy with 10 drones within one hour.
