A Russian drone struck a residential building in the city of Sumy overnight, sparking a fire and injuring several people, according to Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov and acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
According to the head of the regional administration, ten Russian drones targeted Sumy within an hour.
"All the strikes were aimed directly at civilian infrastructure," he said.
The attacks hit a nine-story apartment building and a two-story residential house in different parts of the city.
Two people were injured in the strike on the apartment building: a teenage girl and an elderly woman. They received medical assistance at the scene.
Information about other possible casualties is still being verified.
"Residents whose homes were damaged are receiving the necessary assistance. The enemy does not stop. The threat of repeated attacks remains," said Oleh Hryhorov, head of the regional administration.
Acting mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar clarified that the strike hit a residential building in the city’s Zarichnyi district.
"The terror against peaceful residents of Sumy continues," he wrote.
Russian strikes on Sumy
Russian forces struck a gas station in Sumy with a combat drone on October 30, injuring several people and damaging vehicles.
Following another attack on the morning of October 27, parts of the city were left without power, prompting emergency electricity shutdown schedules across the region.
In addition, on October 26, a Russian Italmas-type drone hit the roof of a multi-story residential building in the city’s Zarichnyi district, sparking a fire that was quickly extinguished by emergency responders.
