Russian missile attack on Chernihiv: Death toll rises
As a result of a Russian missile strike on the social infrastructure of Chernihiv, 18 people have been reported dead and 77 injured, including 4 children, according to the State Emergency Service.
Three individuals have been rescued from under the rubble, while 58 have received psychological assistance. Additionally, 1580 tons of construction debris have been removed, with 71% of the destroyed building's section dismantled.
Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
Russian attack on Chernihiv on April 17
Russian terrorists launched three Iskander ballistic missile strikes on Chernihiv. The target was a social facility unrelated to critical infrastructure. Elements of the walls from the third to the sixth floor of an 8-story building were destroyed.
More than 10 residential buildings, a hospital, and the main building of Chernihiv Polytechnic were also damaged. Dozens of cars were destroyed.
On Wednesday evening, reports indicated 17 civilians dead and 78 injured, including three children, with over 40 individuals transported to hospitals.
Ukraine's permanent representative to the UN, Serhii Kyslytsia, sent a letter to Secretary-General António Guterres emphasizing the intolerability of his inaction regarding Russia's illegitimate presence in the UN Security Council, as the country continues to commit terrorist acts against civilians in Ukraine.
