Russian missile attack hits Kyiv in a daytime assault, rescuers show the damage

At least seven people were injured in a Russian strike on Kyiv's Obolonskyi district. Amid the attack, rescuers showed how they were dealing with the aftermath of the latest Russian assault.
At around 2 p.m., explosions rang out in Kyiv during another Russian attack.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko later reported a strike on a restaurant building in Obolonskyi district. Missile debris also fell in the courtyard of a residential building in the same district.
At 2:47 p.m., Klitschko said rescuers were putting out a fire at the restaurant hit by the strike. They had found four injured people, one of whom was in serious condition. Medics provided the necessary assistance.

The number of people injured in Obolon later rose to six. According to the mayor, five injured people were taken to hospitals, while another received medical assistance on the scene.

Some time later, the number of people injured in Kyiv rose to seven.

Klitschko said city hospitals are treating five injured people. Three of them are in serious condition.

Rescuers noted that the Russian attack sparked three fires involving wooden structures and grass in an open area. Rescuers extinguished the fires across a total area of 200 square meters.

In addition, a single-story structure in the courtyard of a residential apartment complex was damaged.

"All necessary emergency services are working at the scene. The information is being clarified," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.

As previously reported, after this recent attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Ukrainians that the threat of further Russian missile strikes remains.
