In the Lviv region, a warhead from a Russian Kinzhal air-launched missile has been discovered and neutralized. The missile was used by the enemy during a massive airstrike on Ukraine on August 26, reports the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

Emergency services reported that the Kinzhal missile warhead was discovered almost two months after another massive combined shelling of Ukrainian territory by Russia.

The service informed that emergency responders professionally and promptly neutralized the missile warhead to ensure the safety of residents from potential explosions.

The disposal of the enemy munitions was carried out by SES pyrotechnicians.

Additionally, the emergency services released photos showing the recovery of the Russian missile warhead from a pit in the ground for further neutralization.

Large-scale airstrike by Russia on Ukraine at the end of summer

On August 26, Russia carried out yet another combined airstrike on Ukrainian territory, launching 127 missiles and 109 drones. During the attack, the Russian army targeted energy infrastructure in 15 regions of Ukraine.

At that time, energy officials described the assault as unprecedented. Among the targets was the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant, which fortunately did not suffer critical damage.

The recent discovery of dangerous remnants of the Kinzhal missile in the Lviv region is not the first of its kind. On September 1, SES sapper units also recovered warheads from Kinzhal and X-101 missiles in this region.
