On the afternoon of July 3, a Russian Iskander missile hit the area of one of the berths of the Odesa seaport. Two people were killed, including foreigners, according to Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories.

At the time of the attack, cargo operations were underway at the pier, in particular, unloading metal from a foreign ship flying the flag of São Tomé and Príncipe.

Two people were killed in the attack: a mechanized dockworker and a truck driver.

"Six more people were injured. Among them are employees of one of the port operators and a driver. Two more are Syrian citizens, crew members of a civilian vessel. People are being provided with all necessary assistance," the minister said.

The attack also damaged the port's infrastructure, including portal cranes, equipment, and storage facilities.

Kuleba emphasized that the attack was yet another indication of Russia's targeted tactics to destroy Ukraine's transportation hubs and export opportunities.

He called for a strong international response to Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure.

Kuleba also showed the consequences of a missile attack on Odesa's port infrastructure.

A powerful explosion was heard in Odesa this afternoon, July 3. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a ballistic missile threat from Crimea.

Later, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, reported two dead and three injured as a result of the missile attack.

Also on the night of July 3, Odesa was attacked by Russian drones. Air defense was operating in the city. The attack took place around three in the morning. As a result of the drone strikes, civilian infrastructure was damaged, including residential buildings.

According to rescuers, a 9-story building was damaged by enemy shelling, and a fire broke out on the 7th to 9th floors. Six people were injured, including two children.
