The Russian army launched an attack on the city of Odesa with strike drones overnight on Thursday, July 3. A multi-story residential building was damaged, according to a post by the city’s mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov.

At around 3:00 AM Kyiv time, explosions were heard in Odesa. Shortly before that, reports indicated that strike drones were heading toward the city.

Later, Trukhanov confirmed that residential buildings had been damaged as a result of the attack.

He noted that information about casualties was still being clarified and that an operational headquarters and municipal services were working on the scene.

Photos from the scene show that a multi-story residential building was damaged in the Russian drone attack.

Trukhanov clarified that the building was severely affected and that all emergency services were working on site, with assistance being provided to those injured.

According to Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov, rescue workers freed five people who were trapped on the upper floors of the building.

Among them were two children. All received the necessary assistance, and three of the injured were hospitalized.

A preliminary inspection showed that one of the building's entrances sustained significant damage and is currently unsafe to enter.
