Odesa under fire: Russian missile strike kills and injures port workers

On the afternoon of July 3, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on Odesa's port infrastructure. Two people were killed and three others injured as a result, reports the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
According to Kiper, Russian forces used a ballistic cluster missile in the attack on the port infrastructure. Two people were killed, and three others sustained injuries.
Among the victims is a truck driver, while the identity of the second deceased person is still being established. All those injured are receiving medical assistance. Rescue and investigative operations are ongoing at the scene.
Strike on Odesa
A powerful explosion rocked Odesa in the afternoon on July 3. Ukraine's Air Force had earlier issued a warning about a ballistic missile threat from Crimea.
Also, in the early hours of July 3, Russian drones attacked Odesa. Air defense systems were active in the city during the assault, which occurred around 3 a.m. Kyiv time. The drone strikes damaged civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings.
Rescue services reported that a 9-story apartment building was hit, causing a fire that spread from the 7th to the 9th floors.
Initial reports indicated that five people were injured, including two children who were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.
Updated information later confirmed a sixth victim — an elderly man who declined hospitalization.
