Russian forces strike Zaporizhzhia district: power outages reported, one person injured

Late on Wednesday evening, October 8, Russian forces once again attacked the Zaporizhzhia district. The strike caused damage and temporary power outages, according to Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration head Ivan Fedorov.
At 9:29 PM Kyiv time, Ivan Fedorov reported a threat of drone attacks for the region. About an hour later, an air-raid alert was issued in Zaporizhzhia, and the regional head warned of a risk of air-dropped bomb strikes.
He later confirmed that Russian forces had attacked the Zaporizhzhia district, damaging an infrastructure facility. The strike continued afterward, leading to more widespread consequences.
"Private houses have been damaged. There are partial problems with the electricity supply. As soon as the security situation allows, power engineers will begin restoration," Fedorov wrote at 11:31 PM Kyiv time.
In addition, one person was injured as a result of the attack.
Zaporizhzhia strike
Earlier, on the night of October 9, Russian forces carried out a combined attack on Zaporizhzhia, using both drones and aerial bombs.
The strikes hit residential buildings, sparking fires and setting vehicles ablaze. Several people were injured in the attack.
In addition, the assault left 67,000 residents of Zaporizhzhia and more than 6,000 residents of the Zaporizhzhia district without electricity.
