Russian forces launched missile strike on center of Kurakhove, Donetsk region
On the night of January 4, Russians launched a missile strike on Kurakhove in the Donetsk region. A kindergarten, school, sanatorium, and cafe were destroyed, according to the head of Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
"At around midnight, the Russians launched rockets on the city - destroying a kindergarten, school, sanatorium, and cafe. Additionally, high-rise buildings were damaged," wrote the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
Filashkin also posted photos depicting the aftermath of the missile strike, showing destroyed or partially damaged infrastructure objects.
Fortunately, there were no casualties. The consequences of the strike are currently being assessed.
"According to preliminary information, there are no civilian casualties. We are investigating all circumstances and consequences of the strike," Filashkin reported.
Shelling on Donetsk region
Russian forces continue to shell cities in the Donetsk region, especially those near the front lines. Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, urged people to evacuate.
On January 3, Russian forces shelled Avdiivka with missiles, resulting in one fatality and one injury.
Occupying forces also targeted the city of Hirnyk, hitting a residential building and injuring a teenager.
On January 1, Russians shelled Avdiivka with artillery, leading to the death of a woman.
