Russian forces launch Shahed attacks on Ukraine: Threat zones identified
Russian troops launched several groups of Shahed-type attack drones from two directions across Ukraine, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, two groups of kamikaze drones were spotted in the Dnipropetrovsk region flying on a north and northwest course toward Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
In addition, a part of Shaheds is flying from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation towards the Sumy region on a southwestern course.
Shahed strikes in Ukraine
Russian troops are using Shahed-type attack drones to strike at the territory of Ukraine. The last reported drone attack was on the night of May 5-6.
Sumy was under attack. After midnight, explosions were heard in the regional center. After that, some parts of the city were partially without electricity and water supply. There were also reports of repeated explosions in the city.
Later, the Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that the enemy had conducted air strikes on energy facilities in the region at night. The statement also said that restoration work was underway.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of May 6, almost all enemy Shahed-type kamikaze drones that the Russian invaders launched to strike Ukraine were destroyed by air defense forces and means.
