Russian army struck energy facilities in Sumy region, repair work reported
Russian army conducted an airstrike on energy facilities in the Sumy region during the night of May 6, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration (SRMA).
The administration reported that repair work is underway at the affected sites as a result of the enemy's attack.
"The enemy has carried out an aviation strike on energy facilities in Sumy region. All necessary services are working on-site. Restoration work is underway," the announcement said.
SRMA added that the consequences of the enemy's attack on the region are currently being clarified.
"Follow further announcements regarding the situation," the administration added.
SRMA also reminded that the air alarm is ongoing and called on residents not to leave the shelter.
"Stay calm, do not ignore air alarm signals. Stay in shelters," the statement said.
Nighttime aerial attack and power outages in Sumy and the region
Earlier, it was reported that during the night of May 6, the Russian army once again used Shahed kamikaze drones for an airstrike on Ukrainian territory. Air alarms were declared in several regions.
Later, explosions were reported in Sumy. After this, there was a partial lack of electricity and water supply in some areas of the city. According to local media, there is also a partial lack of electricity in some settlements of the Sumy region, including Lebedyn, Bilopillia, and Okhtyrka.
Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, there were also reports of power outages in several areas of the city following enemy strikes on the Sumy region.
