Russian forces damage key energy facility in Ternopil region – Regional Military Administration
On the night of November 26, Russian forces attacked an energy infrastructure facility in the Ternopil region. As a result, 70% of the region was cut off from electricity, according to the head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Negoda, during a briefing.
According to Negoda, the energy facility supplied electricity to almost the entire region.
“Initially, 70% of the coverage area was cut off. By the beginning of the working day, Ternopiloblenergo and other technical services did everything to connect to other systems that pass through our region and most of the power supply was restored,” he added.
Night attack on Ternopil region
On the night of November 26, during a large-scale drone attack, Russian forces struck Ternopil. The first explosions occurred after midnight, leaving parts of the city without electricity. Water supply disruptions were also reported.
According to Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal, the strike damaged the electrical infrastructure that powers the city. This led to the following issues:
- Elevators in apartment buildings stopped functioning;
- Some boiler houses ceased operation;
- Trolleybus service was temporarily suspended.
In the morning, Ternopiloblenergo reported network restrictions due to the night attack.
