Russian army damaged electrical infrastructure supplying Ternopil: Consequences of attack reported
In Ternopil, after a nighttime airstrike by Russian forces on the local energy infrastructure, restoration work on the electricity and water supply is ongoing. The city is also working to restore heating points for residents, according to the Telegram channel of Serhii Nadal, head of the Ternopil Regional Defense Council.
It is noted that the enemy strike, using kamikaze drones, damaged the power infrastructure that supplies Ternopil.
Situation with electricity, heating, and water
- "Energy workers are gradually restoring the electricity supply to the city. We hope this will be done as soon as possible," said Nadal.
Additionally, elevators in multi-apartment buildings will remain out of service until the electricity supply in the city is fully restored.
"I ask Ternopil residents not to use elevators in those buildings where electricity is available. There may be interruptions," noted the head of the Ternopil Regional Defense Council.
- Employees of the municipal enterprise Ternopilvodokanal are gradually restoring the centralized water supply in the city. The head of the Ternopil Regional Defense Council also mentioned that there might be low water pressure and added that generators will be used to support the city's utilities.

According to the updated information, the centralized water supply should be restored to all consumers in Ternopil by 7:00 a.m. Kyiv time.

- Regarding heating, most of the boilers are functioning. According to Nadal, if necessary, their operation will also be supported by generators.
It is also reported that individual heating points will be shut down, and heat will be supplied directly to the buildings.
Educational institutions
Schools and kindergartens in Ternopil will operate as usual today.
"Those that do not have a centralized power supply will work using generators," said Nadal.
Transport
In Ternopil, trolleybuses will temporarily be out of service. Buses will replace them on the routes.
"Large buses will replace trolleybus number 11, and the maximum number of buses will be deployed on other routes," said Nadal.
Shahed drone attack on Ternopil
Earlier, it was reported that during a massive attack using strike drones, explosions were heard in Ternopil during the night.
As a result, the city was partially left without electricity, and there were also disruptions in water supply.
In total, the air raid alert in the Ternopil region lasted for about five hours.
