Russian forces attack Odesa district with Kh-31P missiles: One fatality reported
Russian troops targeted the Odesa region with missiles during the day on October 29. A man who was near the sea at the time was killed in the attack, according to Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
"During the day, the Russians attacked our region with two guided aviation missiles Kh-31P, which did not reach their targets," he explained.
According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, a 71-year-old man was killed by debris from one of the enemy missiles in the Odesa district.
"He was near the sea. I express my sincere condolences to the family..." Kiper stated.
He noted that the missile launches were carried out by a Russian Su-30 fighter jet from the waters of the Black Sea.
Shelling of Odesa and the region
Russian forces are continuously shelling Odesa and the surrounding area, with attacks intensifying during the operation of the grain corridor.
Russia targets ships transporting food from Ukraine, as well as ports and critical port infrastructure. On October 11, Russian forces shelled the Odesa region with ballistic missiles, resulting in four fatalities and ten injuries.
Additionally, the Russian army attacked the Odesa district with ballistic missiles on October 9, once again targeting port infrastructure. Nine people were killed, and eight were injured in that assault.
