Russia strikes Odesa region with ballistic missiles: Civilian vessel damaged, fatalities reported
The Russian army has once again launched a ballistic strike on the Odesa region, resulting in five deaths and nine injuries, according to Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine's Minister for Communities and Territories Development.
He stated that the Russian forces targeted the port infrastructure in the Odesa region. As a result, five people were killed, and nine were injured. All the victims are Ukrainians.
Additionally, a Panamanian-flagged civilian vessel, the container ship Shui Spirit, was damaged during the attack. It's worth noting that this is the third foreign vessel attacked by Russia in the past four days.
"Ukraine remains a guarantor of food security today. Therefore, it is important to end this practice of terror with sufficient weaponry, air defense, diplomacy, sanctions, and accountability for every war crime," Kuleba wrote.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, clarified that the death toll has risen to six. According to him, eight people were injured, four of them are in serious condition.
"This is already the third attack on a civilian vessel in the past four days. The treacherous enemy is trying to disrupt the operations of the Ukrainian grain corridor by killing civilians and destroying infrastructure. Law enforcement agencies are documenting another crime by the Russians," Kiper wrote.
