Russian drones strike Ukraine's Sumy - Direct hit reported on apartment building

Russian forces attacked Sumy with drones on Wednesday, October 8, striking a residential high-rise building, according to Serhii Kryvosheenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, and acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
According to Kryvosheenko, the first strike hit the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy. The attack caused a fire in a non-residential building and damaged several private houses. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.
The second strike occurred in the Zarichnyi district, where a drone hit the roof of a residential apartment building.
In total, three impacts were recorded in the city.
"One of the strikes hit an apartment building, damaging the roof and several windows. According to preliminary information, there are no injured or dead," he said.
Emergency services are working at the scene.
Strike on the Sumy region
Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces struck a residential house in the village of the Krasnopillia community, Sumy region.
An entire family was injured in the attack, including a 4-year-old girl who suffered severe burns.
In response to the brutal strike, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on partners to strengthen support for communities in the Sumy region.
