Russia strikes Ukraine's Sumy region: Casualties reported, 4-year-old in severe condition

In the Sumy region, a Russian drone struck a private house. The explosion injured a family, including a 4-year-old girl who is in extremely severe condition, according to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, and the police.

A family was injured as a result of the Russian strike. A 4-year-old girl is in severe condition. She, her mother, and her grandmother were hospitalized.
The child suffered severe burns, and doctors are fighting for her life. The issue of transporting the girl to the Okhmatdyt hospital is currently being decided.
The police added that dozens of civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the Russian strike.
In Sumy, three apartment buildings, a service station, car dealerships, and a trolleybus were destroyed.
Russia also caused significant damage in other communities in the region, damaging at least seven private homes and three apartment buildings.

Russian attack on Ukraine on October 8
On the night of October 8, the Russians launched another suicide drone strike on Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Kryvyi Rih, Cherkasy, Sumy, Odesa, and other regions.
Tonight, Russians carried out a massive attack with Shahed drones on the Chernihiv region. The main strikes were on Nizhyn, Pryluky, and the Semenivka community.
Russia attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones and guided aerial bombs. A total of 29 strike drones were shot down over the region. Russian strikes hit the Kryvyi Rih district and the Zelenodolsk and Novopillia communities.
The regional military administration showed photos of the aftermath of the Russian strikes.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 183 Shahed and Gerbera strike drones and other models of unmanned aerial vehicles at Ukraine during the night.
In total, Russians attacked Ukraine from 5 directions in Russia and two more from the temporarily occupied Crimea. About a hundred of them were Shahed drones.
