On Wednesday, October 8, the Russian army launched 183 attack drones from various directions across Ukraine, according to the Air Force.

Starting at 6:30 p.m. (Kyiv time) on October 7, the enemy attacked with 183 Shahed and Gerbera strike drones, as well as other types of drones. The enemy launched drones from five directions in Russia and two in the temporarily occupied Crimea. About 100 of them were Shahed drones.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 a.m., air defense forces shot down or suppressed 154 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, east, and center of the country.

22 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 11 locations. The attack is still ongoing, with several enemy UAVs in the airspace.

Attack on October 8

Ukraine's energy infrastructure suffered a massive enemy strike overnight. The enemy's main targets were Nizhyn and Pryluky in the Chernihiv region, Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and the Odesa region.

Near Nizhyn, 12 Shaheds attacked the railway infrastructure, and in Pryluky, they attacked an oil depot.

The Russians launched about 30 Shaheds and aerial bombs at Kryvyi Rih, where the energy infrastructure was also damaged.

Electric power industry company DTEK also reported that Russian troops attacked a thermal power plant. Two power engineers were wounded as a result of the attack.
