On the night of January 19, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 145 strike drones from six directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most enemy targets, but 13 hits were recorded, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

According to the military, the attack began at 6:00 p.m. on January 18. The enemy used 145 strike UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as other types of drones, with about 90 being Shaheds.

Launches were carried out from six directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea), and Donetsk (temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine).

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m., air defense forces shot down or suppressed 126 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones.

Thirteen strike UAV hits were recorded at 12 locations, as well as the fall of downed UAV debris at five locations.

"The attack is ongoing, with several enemy UAVs still in the airspace. Follow safety rules," the Air Force warned.

Attacks on Ukraine

Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian city of Odesa overnight, causing significant destruction.

In particular, a drone hit a high-rise residential building. Two apartments, the building's facade, windows, and nearby privately owned vehicles were damaged.

In addition, damage was recorded at a critical infrastructure facility. One person was injured.

Attacks on Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia were also reported. Monitoring channels reported powerful explosions, but there is currently no official information from local authorities regarding the consequences.

At around 2:00 a.m., an air raid alert was also announced in Kyiv. Residents were urged to immediately proceed to the nearest shelters, while details of the situation have not yet been reported.
