Russian drones hit western Ukrainian city Ternopil, explosions reported

During the day on May 1, Ternopil came under attack by Russian drones. A series of explosions was heard in the city, and it was covered in smoke, according to a correspondent, the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, and mayor Serhii Nadal.
The first explosions were heard in Ternopil at around 13:10. This happened amid a massive attack of Shahed drones on Ukraine. Monitoring channels reported several dozen drones that reached the city.
"Urgently go to shelters! Do not use transport," Mayor Serhii Nadal urged city residents.
According to the head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Taras Pastukh, the Ternopil region and the city of Ternopil are in a zone of heightened danger.
The city was covered in smoke after the explosions.
What is known about the consequences
The mayor reported that part of Ternopil was left without electricity.
Specifically, parts of the Kanada, Center, Novyi Svit, and Staryi Park neighborhoods, as well as part of the Soniashnyi residential area.
The mayor said that more than 50 Shahed drone drones were recorded over Ternopil today. About 20 of them exploded.
Impacts were recorded on industrial and infrastructure facilities in the city.
“As of now, 10 people are known to be injured. Some are in serious condition. All victims are receiving medical assistance. There is no information about fatalities,” emphasized Serhii Nadal.
According to the State Emergency Service, 10 people were injured in Ternopil as a result of the Russian strike. One person is in serious condition.
The mayor reported that emergency crews have already restored the damaged power lines.
At the same time, water supply and sewage systems are operating normally.

Massive drone attack on Ukraine
Since morning, Russia has been attacking Ukraine with swarms of drones. Unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded in most regions of the country, or parts of them. Around midday, drones also reached western regions.
