Russian drones attack Kyiv since morning, casualties and destruction reported

Since the morning of July 8, Kyiv has been under a new wave of drone attacks that have already claimed lives and caused significant damage.
RBC-Ukraine has compiled everything known so far about the aftermath of Russia's attack on the Ukrainian capital.
What is known about the dead and injured
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, as of 6:42 p.m., three people have been killed and 14 others injured in the Russian drone attack on the capital. Nine of the injured, including a 17-year-old boy, were hospitalized. Two are currently in critical condition.
Two of the injured are medical workers.
During a search of a high-rise residential building, emergency crews rescued a child with facial lacerations and handed the child over to medics.
Strikes in the Desnianskyi district
At around noon, a Russian drone crashed and exploded near a gas distribution station in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district, Klitschko said.
Later, at around 1:40 p.m., another drone crashed into a three-story non-residential building near a local market.
According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, authorities confirmed one death and six injuries as of 2:41 p.m.
At around 4:00 p.m., rescuers recovered the body of another victim from the rubble.

Drone hits high-rise apartment building
At around 5:30 p.m., a drone struck the 16th floor of a 25-story residential building, Klitschko said, triggering a fire.

At 5:58 p.m., Tkachenko reported that rescuers had evacuated a child with facial lacerations from the building and transferred the child to medical personnel.
Earlier, during the night of July 8, Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. The first explosions were heard even before an official air raid alert was issued.
The overnight strike caused damage in Kyiv's Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Warehouses caught fire in Desnianskyi district, while a non-residential building was damaged in Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.
