Russian drone strike on Ukraine's Sumy region kills family of 4, including child

In the Sumy region, the death toll from a nighttime Russian strike on an apartment building has risen. A toddler was among the dead. Three more people were injured, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
Death toll rises in Romny community
Overnight, a Russian drone struck an apartment building in the Romny community. The strike sparked a massive fire that engulfed part of the building.
According to updated figures, the death toll has risen to 4.
Toddler among the dead
The attack claimed lives when the building, where civilians were staying, was struck. Those killed include:
- 2 women
- an elderly man
- a toddler under the age of 2.
The toddler was killed alongside her mother.
3 more men were injured in the nighttime Russian attack. They are currently receiving the necessary medical care.
"A difficult night for the entire Sumy region. My sincere condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims," Hrygorov says.
Russia attacked other Ukrainian cities as well
Meanwhile, Kryvyi Rih suffered fires and destruction following a massive Russian strike.
Significant damage was also reported in the city following the Russian attack. Emergency services worked to address the aftermath of the strike.
Recently, Russia has reduced the number of large-scale shelling attacks on Ukrainian cities. This is according to an assessment by the Institute for the Study of War.
