In Dnipro, the number of injured and affected individuals increased to eight people due to the impact of an enemy kamikaze drone of the Shahed type on a multi-story building on the night of February 23, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

According to the official, seven citizens were taken to the hospital for medical assistance.

"As of now, there is information about 8 injured in the multi-story building in Dnipro. Seven of them have been hospitalized," he said.

Earlier, there was information about four casualties, and it was reported that there were still citizens trapped under the rubble.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration added that emergency rescue operations are ongoing at the site.

The official also shared photos from the scene of the incident, where the enemy's Shahed drone hit the building that night.

Attack by Shahed drones in Dnipro

On the night of February 23, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of the detection of enemy drones Shahed in various regions of the country, launched by Russian invaders for attacks. Military sources specifically mentioned the movement of kamikaze drones towards Dnipro and the surrounding areas.

Around 01:20 a.m., explosions were reported in Dnipro, with multiple incidents.

Later, the Regional Military Administration reported that the city experienced impacts from Russian Shahed drone attacks during the night, resulting in hits on a multi-story building and subsequent destruction. At that time, at least four casualties were known.

Russian air attack on Ukraine

On the evening of February 22, an air raid alert was declared in central and southern regions of Ukraine due to the threat of missile strikes from Russian Tu-22m3 aircraft carrying Kh-22 missiles. Later, it became known that enemy aircraft had launched missiles towards Odesa. Around 11:00 p.m., an explosion was reported in Odesa.

As clarified later by the Southern Defense Forces regarding the consequences in Odesa, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted and shot down 9 Russian kamikaze drones. It is noted that one of the drones hit over the sea and crashed into a building in the coastal zone of the city, causing destruction and a fire. One person was reported dead, and there may be others inside the building.
