On the night of July 24, explosions were heard in Odesa during another Russian attack using combat drones, according to Telegram channel of Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
“Explosions can be heard in the city!” Trukhanov wrote, confirming the presence of an enemy aerial threat.
Shortly before that, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, urged residents of Odesa and the surrounding area to take immediate shelter: “Odesa and the district, stay in shelters! The enemy is attacking with combat drones!”
Information regarding possible impacts or casualties is currently being clarified.
Air raid sirens continue to sound across the city. Just before the explosions, Ukraine’s Air Forces warned that the Odesa region would be targeted overnight on July 24 by enemy Shahed drones.
Main flight paths of the hostile drones:
- at the border of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, heading north;
- over the Black Sea, moving toward the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district.
Authorities urge residents to remain in safe shelters until the all-clear is officially announced.
On the night of July 22, Russian forces launched drone attacks on the Kyivskyi district of Odesa. The strike destroyed a supermarket, a bank, and completely burned about 15 cars in a parking lot near a residential complex.
Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov reported broken windows in a high-rise, burned cars in the parking lot, and a fire in an administrative building. Notably, the State Emergency Service’s official report did not mention the administrative building fire.
