In the early hours of July 22, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Odesa, setting vehicles ablaze, damaging residential buildings, and igniting an administrative facility, according to Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.

Trukhanov confirmed that Russian forces attacked Odesa region with strike drones, some of which were headed directly toward the city.

"As a result of the attack, windows were shattered in residential high-rises in one district, and several cars burned in a courtyard parking lot. In another part of the city, an administrative building caught fire," the statement said.

Trukhanov noted that, as of now, there are no reports of casualties or injuries. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Odesa under attack

Earlier, Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper also reported that a Russian drone strike had set fire to an administrative building and several vehicles, with windows shattered in residential buildings.

Russian forces regularly target Odesa with drones. A similar attack occurred during the night of July 19, damaging apartment blocks, a private home, retail establishments, and cars.

That strike left six people injured and resulted in one fatality.
