Russian drone hits locomotive in Dnipropetrovsk region: What we know

Russian forces attacked a railway station in Dnipropetrovsk region during the night of February 28. An enemy drone struck an electric locomotive, injuring the train driver, according to a Telegram post from Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba.

"During the night, the enemy attacked one of the stations in Dnipropetrovsk region with drones. As a result of the strike on the electric locomotive, the train driver was injured. He received all necessary medical assistance, and his condition is stable," Kuleba said.
According to him, a fire broke out at the site of the impact. Emergency services are working to quickly contain the consequences.
"This is another attempt by Russia to disrupt civilian logistics. The enemy systematically targets infrastructure that ensures transportation, evacuation, and supply across the country," the minister added.

Despite this, Kuleba emphasized that train traffic remains stable and is operating according to schedule. The railway continues to function, providing connectivity even under constant threats.

Recall that during the night of February 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander‑M ballistic missile and 105 strike drones from multiple directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy targets.
At the same time, six strike drones hit their targets, and debris fell at seven locations.
