On the night of September 15-16, a Shahed-type kamikaze drone crossed the border with Belarus in the Gomel region. It stayed in the country's airspace for about 20 minutes, flying over the Polesie Radiation and Ecological Reserve, the Belaruski Gajun analytical group reports.

According to the analysts, citing a source from Mykolaiv Vaniok, the drone entered the Gomel region from Kyiv region around 3:15 a.m., heading for Khoyniki.

After that, it made several circles in the airspace of Belarus and then returned to Ukraine, at 3:40 a.m. continuing to move towards Ivankov.

Reportedly, no aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force were flown overnight to respond to the incident.

Russian night attack on Ukraine

On the night of September 16, an air alert was declared in Kyiv, Kyiv, and other regions due to an attack by Russian attack drones. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces were deployed in the capital and the region, and explosions were heard in the Khmelnytskyi region.

Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down about two dozen Russian drones in the airspace around Kyiv. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties or damage in the capital.

On the night of September 16, Russian troops conducted a large-scale attack using Shahed attack drones. The Ukrainian Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and escorted 56 Russian drones launched from the territory of Russia (Kursk and Yeysk).
