Russian drone flies into Belarus again: Details
Russian Shahed drone again violates Belarusian territory on July 13, reaching Vitebsk. This marks the second such incident, reports the monitoring group Belaruski Hayun.
"Tonight, on July 13, Russia again attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones. One of these UAVs reportedly crossed into Belarusian airspace through the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in the Gomel region around 3:00 a.m.," the statement reads.
According to the monitoring group, the drone remained in Belarusian territory for nearly three hours and eventually reached Vitebsk.
"At 5:00 a.m., Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense forces were scrambled for interception. Mi-24 helicopters and Su-30 fighters patrolled the southeast of Vitebsk region for one and a half hours without success," Hayun added, specifying that there have been no reports of the UAV being shot down or crashing.
Russian drones in Belarus
Russian forces attacked Ukraine on the night of July 13 with five kamikaze drones. Four of them were successfully intercepted by air defense systems. Additionally, another Russian Shahed drone flew from Ukraine towards Belarus, specifically in the direction of the Gomel region.
Just on July 12, Belarus also scrambled aircraft due to a Russian drone.
