The effectiveness of the Ukrainian attacks on Russian tech giant Yandex's data centers has been felt even in Israel, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"There was a strike on Yandex in Russia. Sixty percent of the online activity directed against us by Russian users disappeared," Netanyahu stressed.
According to him, this demonstrates the scale of the capabilities that such an approach can offer.
He emphasized that Israel must also take action in this area, despite the limitations imposed by its democratic system of government.
Netanyahu also noted that the country is beginning to work in this field.
Ukraine's strikes on Russia's Yandex
On October 8, Ukrainian drones struck Yandex's largest data center in Russia.
On the same day, it emerged that the websites of Russian propagandists had suffered widespread disruptions across Russia.
Following the successful attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yandex concealed data centers in four Russian regions on its maps.
The very next day, October 9, a second data center in the Komi Republic came under attack.
Ukraine did not stop there and struck a third Yandex data center. Against this backdrop, several popular services in Russia experienced disruptions.
On October 11, it emerged that a Yandex data center in Russia's Vladimir Region had suspended operations following a drone attack.
