Yandex hides data centers
Verstka discovered that Yandex has blurred the locations of all four data centers of its Cloud platform in its mapping service.
The hidden data centers are located in:
- Moscow region (Mytishchi);
- Ryazan region (Sasovo);
- Kaluga region (Kaluga);
- Vladimir region (Vladimir).
Among them is the facility in Sasovo, which caught fire today as a result of a drone attack.
When viewing the map in satellite mode, these facilities appear blurred.

Furthermore, when entering the addresses where these facilities are supposed to be located, the service does not indicate that they are actually there. It remains unknown exactly when these objects were hidden.
At the same time, other organizations are located at the sites where the data centers are supposed to be, but their locations are displayed inaccurately.
On October 8, a Yandex data center in Sasovo, Ryazan region, Russia, caught fire as a result of a drone attack.
Additionally, the Yandex mapping service is attempting to hide a Russian military missile battery near Finland. Russia fears strikes by Ukrainian drones.
