Russian bomb hits Ukrainian church, killing two civilians in Donetsk region

On October 11, Russian forces shelled Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region with guided aerial bombs, damaging a church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and causing casualties, according to Serhii Horbunov, head of the Kostiantynivka Military Administration, and Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
"As a result of another enemy airstrike on Kostiantynivka, two civilians were killed. Four more civilians were wounded, with varying degrees of severity," Horbunov said.
He added that Russian forces dropped a FAB-250 aerial bomb on the city. The explosion struck the grounds of the St. Job of Pochaiv Church of the Horlivka Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where civilians were present at the time. The blast damaged the church facade and nine private homes.
"The wounded were promptly taken by police to the hospital in Druzhkivka for medical assistance. In addition, one person injured in a separate FAB-250 airstrike sought medical help independently at the Druzhkivka hospital," Horbunov said.
Filashkin confirmed that the two people killed were local men, aged 49 and 56, and five others were injured.
"Police also found a 2-year-old boy at the strike site. Fortunately, he was unharmed. However, his father and grandfather were injured. The child was evacuated to Kramatorsk," he added.

Recently, parts of the Donetsk region experienced power outages due to Russian shelling. Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, and some districts of Kramatorsk were left without electricity.
A week earlier, on October 4, Russian forces again attacked Kramatorsk, striking a hospital complex during the day.
