Russian ballistic missile strike on lyceum in Odesa region: Students among injured

Russian forces today, June 23, struck a lyceum in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa region, with ballistic missiles. Among the injured are two 11th-grade students, states the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, during a national telethon live broadcast.
Oleh Kiper noted that there were two ballistic missile strikes on the lyceum. Only those children who came to collect their belongings and help with household matters were present in the school building. In total, about 18 people were inside.
"Twelve injured, nine in moderate condition, three in serious condition, including two 11th-grade students. One of them is a Ukrainian boxing champion who studied at this school," the head of the regional military administration said.
He added that rescue operations are ongoing. It is currently unknown if anyone remains trapped under the rubble. All emergency services are involved in clearing the debris.
Kiper also said that two of the deceased were staff members of the lyceum — the deputy principal and the head of maintenance, who was responsible for preparing the institution for the new season.
Attack on Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi
The strike by Russian forces on the lyceum in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi was officially reported around 03:10 PM Kyiv time.
Following this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the lyceum building was effectively destroyed as a result of the attack.
According to the latest information, two people have been confirmed dead and 12 injured.
