Russian attacks on the Sumy region
Russian forces regularly attack populated areas in the Sumy region, including the regional capital.
For example, on July 26, a Russian drone struck the building of the Sumy Regional State Administration. Authorities later reported that one of the drones hit Independence Square, damaging the administration building. Windows were also shattered in a nearby apartment building.
