Last night, August 15, Russian troops launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukrainian cities. Lviv and Dnipro, Lutsk and Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia and Smila, and more were struck, with destruction, fires, and casualties reported.

Lviv and region

In Lviv, the fragments of downed enemy missiles caused damage to apartment buildings on Paton and Kakhovska streets, resulting in a fire.

"People were evacuated. There are casualties. They are receiving all necessary medical assistance," said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Buildings were also damaged in the villages of Sukhovolya and Stavchany. In the latter, 10 buildings were affected.

According to the latest information provided by Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi, the number of injured stands at four.

Small fires also broke out in other parts of the city but were quickly extinguished.

In one of Lviv's supermarkets, the falling missile debris led to the collapse of a ceiling. Reports also came in about damage to vehicles.

"Unfortunately, there's a lot of damage. The missile hit a kindergarten courtyard. Over a hundred homes have been affected, more than 500 windows shattered, the kindergarten is destroyed. Four people are receiving medical assistance," the Lviv mayor said.

In Lviv, the Riashevska street was temporarily closed. Changes were also made to the public transport routes.

Lutsk

One of the enterprises in Lutsk has been hit as a result of a Russian attack.

Initially, there were two injuries reported. However, in the morning, Yurii Pohulyaiko, the head of the Volyn Regional Administration, said that there were more casualties.

"As of now, 3 individuals have died. Several others are in the hospital," he wrote on Telegram.

Dnipro

During the night attack, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Defense units successfully intercepted and destroyed 7 Kh-101/555 cruise missiles in the skies over the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

In Dnipro, an industrial enterprise was hit, resulting in injuries to two individuals.

The official clarified that a 59-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and would be treated at home, while a 70-year-old man was hospitalized in a moderate condition.

"The fire encompassed an area of over 800 square meters and has been localized," the head of the administration wrote.

Smila, Cherkasy region

In Smila, one Russian missile struck the territory of a private enterprise, while another hit the area of a medical facility.

"Early in the morning, the enemy launched missile strikes on our Cherkasy region... Fortunately, there were no casualties," Ihor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported.

The attacks damaged the water and heat supply networks, leaving a part of the city without water. Law enforcement and utility services are working on-site.

Nighttime missile attack on August 15

Overnight, an air alert was declared in Ukraine, covering almost the entire territory of the country. It was related to a Russian missile attack. The Air Force reported launches of enemy cruise missiles from strategic Tu-95MS bombers from the Caspian Sea area.

Later, the military also announced Russian missile launches towards Ukraine from the Millerovo region using Tu-22M3 aircraft.

Explosions were heard in various cities, including Lviv, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, as well as Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
