Due to the overnight Russian attack in the Odessa region, the border crossing point with Romania is currently not operational. However, hostile drones did not cross the border, according to Natalia Humeniuk, the Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine.

She mentioned that the Orlivka-Isaccea border crossing point between Ukraine and Romania in the Odesa region is not operational.

Humeniuk also refuted information on Telegram channels, claiming that drones had crossed into Romanian territory.

"We have not received any statement from the neighboring state that such incidents occurred. We have also not observed anything similar," stated Humeniuk.

Russian night attack on the Odesa region

During the overnight attack on Ukraine on September 26, the Russian army launched 38 kamikaze drones, of which air defense forces successfully shot down 26.

The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper, reported that Russian terrorists conducted a two-hour attack on the Odesa region using kamikaze drones.

"The air defense forces worked extremely intensively. Most of the drones were shot down. Unfortunately, in the Izmail region, there were hits on port infrastructure," he wrote.

According to his information, two men were injured, truck drivers. One received medical assistance on the spot, while the other was hospitalized with a severe hand injury. The border crossing point building, warehouse facilities, 30 trucks, and 6 lorries were damaged.

Humenyuk reported that the Shaheds night strike targeted the port and border infrastructure of the Odesa region.
