On Monday, January 13, Russian troops attacked critical infrastructure in the Sumy region. As a result of the drone crash, 185 settlements were left without a power supply, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

“Today, on January 13, a Russian drone crashed on the territory of a critical infrastructure facility of the Putyvl community. Preliminary, no people were injured,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, 185 settlements in the Konotop and Sumy districts remain without power.

The Regional Military Administration noted that emergency restoration work is currently underway. Critical infrastructure and life support facilities have been switched to backup power.

Attack on Sumy and the region

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, recently said that the attacks on the Sumy region had quadrupled compared to last year. The enemy is using new means of attack.

On the evening of January 12, Russian forces conducted air strikes on a children's health center in Sumy. A fire broke out on the territory of the facility.

It was also reported that on January 5, Russia struck the infrastructure of the Sumy community with Shahed drones.

The day before, Russian troops dropped a bomb on a high-rise building in Sumy region. The enemy attack injured 10 people.

On January 3, Russian forces attacked Sumy using a Shahed drone with shrapnel.
