As of the evening of September 3, Russian invaders have attacked Ukrainian positions 118 times. The enemy is most active in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions, conducting nearly half of all attacks in these areas, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

Russian shelling

According to the General Staff, the border areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from Russian artillery shelling.

Today, the settlements of Karpovychi, Pokrovka, Porozok, Dmytrivka, Sopych, Bobylivka, Velyka Pysarivka, and Boyaro-Lezhachi were affected by enemy shelling. Air strikes targeted Esman, Usok, and Yunakivka.

Additionally, today Russian aviation dropped 24 KABs (guided aerial bombs) on the territory of the Kursk region in Russia. Russia also fired on its own region using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and artillery.

Situation in the directions

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops have stormed our positions near Vovchansk twice. Fighting is currently ongoing.

The enemy attacked our positions in the Kupiansk direction four times. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults near Hlushkivka, Synkivka, and Berestove.

In the Lyman direction, enemy units continue to attack in the areas of Tverdokhlibove, Druzhelyubivka, Novosadove, Hrekivka, Nevske, Torske, and Terny. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian forces have repelled eight out of 16 enemy attacks in this area. Fighting is ongoing. Near Petropavlivka and Borova, nine enemy aerial bombs have fallen.

Fighting continues in the Siversk direction. The enemy has attacked near Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, and Spirne three times. Our defenders repelled all attacks.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders conducted four assaults near Andriivka and Chasiv Yar. Three clashes near Chasiv Yar are still ongoing. The enemy is actively using aviation, dropping four KABs (guided aerial bombs) on the areas around Stupochky and Bila Hora. Hryhorivka was hit twice with NARs (unguided rockets).

In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks has reached seven. The enemy is attacking near the settlements of Nelipivka and Toretsk. Our defenders are providing a strong response, and all attacks have been stopped. The aggressor's aviation has bombarded the areas of Dachne, Kostiantynivka, Dyliivka, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russia has made 31 attempts to attack our defenders in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Myrolyubivka, Mykhailivka, and Zelene Pole.

The defense forces, while repelling the enemy's offensive, have already repelled 21 enemy attacks, with ten clashes still ongoing. Russia is focusing its efforts near Novohrodivka and Mykhailivka, where 11 and 9 clashes have been recorded, respectively.

In the Kurakhove direction, the heaviest fighting today has occurred, with the invaders attacking our units 37 times—most actively attempting to advance in the areas of Ukrainsk, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiivka. Five clashes are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, the invaders have launched eight assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Vuhledar, Vodiane, and Kostiantynivka. All attacks have been repelled.

In the Orikhiv direction, the area around the village of Pyatykhatky was struck by 20 NARs (unguided rockets). Additionally, Russia conducted five attacks near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprvskyi direction, one enemy attack has been repelled. The invaders launched 40 unguided aerial rockets at Mykolaivka.

"On other fronts, at present, the enemy is not conducting active operations," the General Staff added.

Frontline situation and Russian losses

According to the General Staff, on September 2, there were 197 combat clashes reported on the front. The enemy was active on four fronts.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia’s losses in personnel have exceeded 618,000.

Over the past day, the defense forces eliminated 1,360 troops and destroyed 10 tanks, 35 armored combat vehicles, 18 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
