Russian agents used fake dating profiles to target Ukrainian soldiers in Lviv, SBU says

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the police prevented two terrorist attacks that Russian special services attempted to carry out in Lviv, according to the SBU press service.
To lure the military to the site of the planned terrorist attack, the enemy used the tactic of a date invitation. For this purpose, the Russians created fake female accounts on a popular social network, through which they got acquainted with potential targets.
Later, two servicemen of the Defense Forces received invitations to meet at locations where explosives had been planted.
SBU cyber specialists uncovered the enemy's plan in advance, neutralized the improvised explosive devices, and ensured the safety of the Ukrainian defenders targeted by the enemy.
Attempts by Russians to attack the military
Earlier this summer in Kyiv, the SBU counterintelligence prevented a similar attempt to assassinate a soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine. At that time, the Russians tried to kill the serviceman using an explosive device hidden in a scooter.
During the investigation, a 19-year-old Kyiv resident who planted the explosive device in the vehicle was detained.
In Lviv, SBU officers, together with the National Police, also prevented a large-scale terrorist attack organized by minors on the orders of Russian special services. Two teenagers planted an improvised explosive device under the car of a Ukrainian serviceman, but law enforcement officers managed to neutralize the danger before it could cause harm.
