Russian aerial attack on Ukraine's Izium wounds three children

Russian aircraft carried out airstrikes on Izium in Ukraine's Kharkiv region on July 17. Children were among those injured in the attack, according to a statement by Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov.
Russia bombs Izium
Two children were injured in the enemy attack with guided aerial bombs on Izium, the official said.
"An 8-year-old boy suffered blast injuries, while a 16-year-old girl was wounded by shattered glass," Syniehubov said.
A 40-year-old man was also injured by glass fragments.
"All of the victims are receiving medical assistance," he added.
Number of injured rises
At 5:43 p.m. Kyiv time, the head of the regional administration reported that another child had been affected by the guided bomb strike on Izium.
"A 13-year-old girl suffered an acute stress reaction. She received medical assistance," he wrote.
In late December last year, a 47-year-old man and his 42-year-old wife, who worked as a police officer, were killed in an attack on Izium.
Rescuers in Izium recovered the bodies of two people from a private home destroyed by a Russian aerial bomb. Russian forces dropped several bombs on the city during the daytime on December 20, 2025.
