Russia won’t halt hostilities in Ukraine during negotiations - Russian official

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that his country will not cease hostilities in Ukraine during negotiations, TASS reports.
"Russia will stop military actions when agreements that satisfy both sides are reached," Lavrov said.
According to him, the option of an "immediate truce," halting hostilities along the front line, and then considering further steps does not suit Russia.
It is worth noting that during negotiations with the American delegation in Saudi Arabia, Lavrov denied Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
"We explained that we have never endangered the energy supply systems for the population, and our targets were only those facilities that directly serve the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Lavrov stated at the time.
Meeting in Saudi Arabia
As a reminder, on February 18, American and Russian officials held lengthy negotiations in Saudi Arabia. The discussion focused on the resolution of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Later, the US State Department reported that as a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached for each country to appoint teams to continue the negotiation process regarding Ukraine.
At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized after meeting with the Russian representatives that the conditions for ending the war must be acceptable to both sides to ensure a long-term peace.
