Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during talks with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia, according to Lavrov’s statement.

According to him, during the talks, the US side proposed imposing a moratorium on attacks on energy infrastructure.

"We explained that we have never endangered the civilian energy supply systems and that our targets have only been facilities directly serving the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Lavrov said.

Strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

Last year, Russia systematically targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, leading to scheduled power outages across the country.

On November 17, Russia launched more than 120 missiles and 90 drones at Ukraine’s energy facilities.

On November 28, strikes caused damage in 14 regions, and on December 13, Russia carried out an attack using 287 aerial weapons — 94 missiles and 193 drones.

On December 25, Russian forces launched their 13th massive strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since the beginning of the year.
