Russia uses Shahed UAVs with toxic substances in attacks on Ukraine

Russian troops use Shahed kamikaze drones equipped with poisonous substances for strikes against Ukraine. Russians are doing this to harm people, the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reports.
"The Center has verified this information with the security services and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. A capsule containing a concentrated combat poisonous substance 'CS' (an irritant) was discovered in one of the drones. This is a highly toxic irritant substance," the message says.
The Center noted that enemy drones may scatter capsules with the poisonous substance in order to harm people. Meanwhile, the information circulated by some media outlets claiming that the bodies of Russian drones themselves are treated with poisonous substances has not been confirmed.
Russians use chemical weapons
Ukraine's Defense Intelligence recently reported that Russian troops are systematically using chemicals at the front. In particular, in the Zaporizhzhia region, cases of the enemy using munitions with poisonous gas are being recorded more and more frequently.
The Center for Countering Disinformation also informed that Russian troops at the front have started actively using drops with poisonous substances. In particular, several such cases have been recorded in the Kupiansk direction.
Moreover, back in December of last year, the reports indicated that Russian forces were using chemical substances in the war against Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the enemy has poisoned over two thousand Ukrainian defenders.
At that time, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reported on the possible use of chemical weapons by Russian troops in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.
There were also cases of chemical weapons usage by Russian troops in the Bakhmut area.
In addition, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) published a report confirming the presence of a poisonous substance in samples collected in the combat zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
