Russian forces on the frontline have begun actively using drops of poisonous substances. In particular, several cases have been reported in the Kupiansk direction, according to the Telegram channel of Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council.

"Russians have begun actively using drops of poisonous substances. Several cases have been reported recently in the Kupiansk direction," Kovalenko stated.

He noted that Russia is effectively using banned chemical substances, violating all possible rules of warfare.

"Just ordinary terrorists, as they have always been," added the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation.

Russian forces are using chemical weapons

In December last year, reports indicated that Russian forces were using chemical substances in their war against Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the enemy has poisoned more than 2,000 Ukrainian defenders.

Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (GUR) also reported the possible use of chemical weapons by Russian forces in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.

There were also reports of Russian forces using chemical weapons in the Bakhmut area.

Additionally, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) published a report confirming the presence of a toxic substance in samples collected from the combat zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The research was conducted at Ukraine’s request.
