Russia unleashes hundreds of drones on Ukraine, air defense reveals results

Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down or suppressed 175 Russian drones and five missiles during the massive attack launched on Ukraine on May 3, reports the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
Details of attack
Military says that between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on May 3, Russian forces hit Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and five Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles.
Russians also launched 234 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones.
Air defense results
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 6:30 p.m., Ukrainian forces managed to destroy or suppress five missiles and 175 hostile drones over northern, southern, and central regions of the country.
The attack is ongoing, with dozens of Russian drones still remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
Information on direct hits and the aftermath of falling debris is currently being clarified.
Russian attack on Ukraine on May 3
On May 3, the Russian army launched a massive attack on Ukraine using various types of weapons, including strike drones and missiles.
Civilian infrastructure and residential areas came under hostile fire. In particular, Russian forces struck Dnipro city with missiles during the day, damaging a dormitory building. It was later reported that more than 10 people had been injured in the city and one person had been killed.
Also, Russia struck Zaporizhzhia city, where the attack caused a fire and left several people injured, including a child.
