Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of November 4

On the front lines, there were 71 military engagements. In particular, Russian aggressors conducted assault operations on six fronts, but without success, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russians attacks
In the course of 24 hours, there were 71 combat engagements. In total, the enemy launched six missile and 18 aviation strikes, as well as conducted 33 shelling attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas.
Private residential homes and other civilian infrastructure suffered destruction and damage, with casualties among the civilian population.
The frontline situation
The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains complex.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation is relatively stable with no significant changes. There are no signs of the formation of offensive groupings. Identified units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversky and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, fires upon populated areas from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
About 15 populated areas, including Vintorivka, Seredyna Buda, Prohres, Rozhkovychi, Druzhba, and Baranivka in the Sumy region, as well as Veterynarne, Vovchansk, Budarky, Stroivka in the Kharkiv region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian troops repelled six attacks. Artillery and mortar shelling affected Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the area of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The occupiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Serebriansky Forestry and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region. Additionally, over 10 populated areas, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Serebrianka, Torske, Spirne in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, the invaders made seven unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. At the same time, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Bohdanivka in the Donetsk region. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Markove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, and New York in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of the populated localities of Stepove, Siverne, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks. Additionally, the enemy carried out an airstrike near Berdychiv in the Donetsk region. Over 10 populated areas, including Sukha Balka, Keramik, Tonenke, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, with the support of aviation, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops repelled 15 attacks in this region. Over 10 populated areas in the Donetsk region, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, with aviation support, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinity of Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Around 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Zolota Niva, Bohoyavlenske, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Zaporizhia direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike near Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 populated areas, including Levadne, Hulyaipole, Charivne, Shcherbaky, and Pyatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region, experienced artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of populated localities such as Respublikanets, Chervonyi Mayak, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, and Mykolaivka in the Kherson region. Additionally, populated areas like Mykhailivka, Kachkarivka, Vesele, Tyahynka, Kherson, Romashkove in the Kherson region, and Solonchaky in the Mykolaiv region were targeted by enemy artillery shelling.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are continuing their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and conducting offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut front. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are inflicting losses on the occupying forces in terms of personnel and equipment, gradually wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
Enemy losses
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted three airstrikes targeting the areas where enemy personnel, equipment, and military vehicles were concentrated.
Additionally, missile forces units successfully targeted and damaged one artillery piece used by the enemy.
