Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of August 15

The Forces of Defense of Ukraine continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidate their positions at the achieved frontiers, and carry out counter-battery measures. Over the past day, there have been more than 15 combat clashes on the fronts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
Today, during the night, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine. Information regarding the consequences of this terrorist attack is currently being clarified.
Over the past day, Russian occupiers conducted a missile and aviation strike on the territory of Ukraine, using 8 Kalibr missiles and 15 Iranian combat drones Shahed-136/131 in the Odesa region. As a result of successful combat operations by our Anti-Air Defense Forces, all Kalibr missiles and UAVs were destroyed.
In total, the enemy launched 14 missile and 72 aviation strikes, conducted 63 artillery shelling using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our forces and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population as a result of the Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings, a shopping center, a student dormitory, kindergartens, schools, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.
The probability of missile and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
Frontline situation
The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Pavlivka and Stepne in Sumy region. They also conducted mortar and artillery shelling on more than 25 settlements, including Popivka and Hremiach in the Chernihiv region, Atinske, Stepne, and Vodolahi in the Sumy region, as well as Ohirtseve, Hatysche, and Pletenivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Ivanivka, Zahrizove in the Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region. The enemy also subjected over 15 settlements to artillery and mortar shelling, including Figolivka, Petropavlivka, Orlanske, Kucherivka, Podoly, and Pershotravneve in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 25 settlements, including Serebrianka, Dronivka, Zakitne, Vyimka, Pereizne, and Fedorivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Vasiukivka and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region. Over 25 settlements were affected by enemy artillery shelling, including Oleksandro-Shultyne, Stupochky, Kurdiumivka, Ozaryanivka, and Druzhba in Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out an aviation strike in the vicinity of Avdiivka. Settlements such as Keramik, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region experienced artillery shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to contain the advance of Russian troops in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an aviation strike in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, Hostre, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery shelling.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy carried out aviation strikes in the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Makarivka, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Blahodatne, Urozhaine, Levadne, and Staromayorske in the Donetsk region, experienced artillery shelling.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy carried out an aviation strike in the vicinity of Novodanilivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 settlements, including Malynivka, Zaliznychnе, Bylohir'ya, Stepnohrisk, and Plavni in the Zaporizhzhia region, suffered from enemy artillery shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Olihivka in the Kherson region. Over 20 settlements, including Dniprovskyi, Berehove, Veletenske, Shyroka Balka in the Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

To replenish significant losses in manpower, the enemy continues to conduct covert mobilization in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, in the city of Starobilsk in the Luhansk region, the pseudo-authorities of the occupation have obligated all men working at state enterprises to undergo a medical examination and register for military service.
The Moscow regime continues its unlawful integration of the population of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into its cultural and educational space. Specifically, the Russian occupation administration has organized an educational process based on the Russian curriculum and opened a school in Bekhteri of the Kherson region, where children from the settlements of Obloyi, Tendrivske, Zburivka, and Novochornomoria are required to study. To compel students to study at the school under the Russian program, parents are being intimidated by administrative consequences for their children's attendance lapses.
In the settlement of Mykhailivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, during the filming of a video by Russian propagandists featuring a high-ranking commander of the Kadyrovtsy forces, a verbal altercation erupted between the Kadyrovtsy and Dagestan fighters. During the confrontation, both sides opened fire with firearms. In the course of the clash, one of the occupiers sustained life-threatening injuries, leading to an open confrontation between the units involving the use of grenade launchers, grenades, and firearms. As a result of the combat confrontation, which saw success for the Dagestan fighters, more than 20 occupiers were reported killed and 40 injured on both sides. The commander of the Kadyrovtsy unit was disciplined by being sent to the front lines.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation carried out 1 strike on a command post, 7 strikes on personnel concentration areas, armaments, and military equipment, and 3 strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile complexes.
Additionally, our defenders successfully destroyed an enemy attack helicopter Ka-52.
Rocket and Artillery Units inflicted strikes on 2 areas of personnel concentration, armaments, and military equipment, neutralized 3 artillery pieces at firing positions and targeted 1 enemy electronic warfare station during the past day.
