Russia-Ukraine war: situation on the front as of August 7

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, during the previous 24 hours, there have been 50 combat engagements on the fronts. Ukrainian artillery units have struck 2 command centers, 2 personnel concentration areas, 2 artillery positions in firing positions, and one enemy electronic warfare station.
Enemy shelling
During the past day, the enemy launched 30 missiles and 52 aviation strikes, conducting 75 shelling operations from multiple rocket launch systems on the positions of our forces and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, due to these Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population, with residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure suffering damage.
The probability of missile and aviation strikes across Ukraine remains high.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 35 settlements, including Buchky, Hremiach, Vesele in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Sydorivka, Studenok, Basivka, and Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy region, as well as Huriv Kozachok, Strilecha, Hatysche, Potykhonove, Odradne, and Bologivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, our troops steadfastly held their defense, successfully repelling enemy attacks east of Petropavlivka in Kharkiv region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Podoliv in Kharkiv region. Enemy artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 settlements, including Fiholivka, Dvorichna, Kindrashivka, Kucherivka, Kupiansk, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched aviation strikes in the areas of Biloherivka in Luhansk region, as well as Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region. Settlements like Kuzmine, Biloherivka in Luhansk region, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Berestove, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region experienced enemy artillery shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, defense forces are holding off the enemy in the area north-east of Dyliivka. More than 15 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Pivnichne in Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery shelling.
In the Avdiivka direction, under intense fire from enemy aviation and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled Russian forces' attacks in the Avdiivka region. Artillery shelling affected Avdiivka and Pervomaiske in Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian forces in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. Near the latter, the enemy carried out an aviation strike. Artillery shelling affected Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy launched an aviation strike in the area of Staromaiorske. Artillery shelling affected Vodiane, Vuhledar, Odradne, Blahodatne, and Rivnopil in Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy's unsuccessful offensive actions took place around Robotyn in Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Orikhove. More than 15 settlements, including Levadne, Chervone, Zaliznychne, Pavlivka, Pyatyhatky, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region, suffered from artillery shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched an aviation strike in the area of Olhivka in Kherson region. More than 20 settlements, including Mykhailivka, Respublikanets, Lvove, Dniprovske, Veletenske, and Novodmytrivka in Kherson region, experienced enemy artillery shelling.
Enemy losses
Ukrainian defense aviation conducted 10 strikes on enemy personnel concentration areas and 4 strikes on Russian air defense systems during the previous day.
Missile forces and artillery units struck 2 command centers, 2 personnel concentration areas, 2 artillery positions in firing positions, and one enemy electronic warfare station during the day.
